Like arts communities all around the country, Huon Valley Theatre was caught unprepared by the lockdown.

With all the productions planned for 2020 currently on hold, things were looking rather bleak for performers and audiences alike, until the idea of a Virtual Voice and Variety concert was born.

Following on from last year’s successful collaboration between Huon Valley Theatre and The Natural Voice, which culminated in a Voice and Variety concert, performers were invited to submit a video to Huon Valley Theatre for inclusion in a virtual concert.

The result is almost an hour’s entertainment showcasing the incredible range of talent out there in the Huon Valley.

There is music, and spoken word, some of it is funny, some poignant and all of it is worth a look.

There is even a performance from Huon Valley Theatre’s extremely talented behind-the-scenes man, Mike Raine, who tries to ensure that he NEVER appears on stage.

Artists include Ben van Tienen and Eleanor Webster, Saila Perera, Jason Dimbylow, Zoe Alexander, Daryl Peebles and Esje Steen, Paige Hensley, Liz Cherry, Dilon Perera, Rae Howard, Catherine Blake, Mike Raine, Monica Robbie and Rob and Ailsa Nicholls.

Tickets for this show are free, so grab yourself some popcorn and a comfy viewing chair and head to http://www.huonvalleytheatre.com/ or Huon Valley Theatre’s Facebook page, sit back and enjoy!

If you have a performance piece that you would like to prepare for submission, Huon Valley Theatre expect to be hosting more virtual concerts later in the year, so get in touch with them via the Facebook page or at This email address is being protected from spambots.
