Year 11 and 12 centre open

Minister for Education, Sarah Courtney on Wednesday, September 22, officially opened the Year 11 and 12 Learning and Community Centre

at Dover District School.

The opening, attended by various local organisations and politicians including Julie Collins MP, Nic Street MP, Dean Winter MP and Huon Valley Council Mayor Bec Enders, marked a celebration of the building’s construction through community collaboration and hopes to increase student retention rates into Year 11 and 12 in the south of the state.

The centre, constructed by Tascon Constructions Pty Ltd and Bence Mulcahy Architects, is part of the $1.1 million expansion by the Tasmanian Government to improve education outcomes.

Minister for Education, Sarah Courtney said that the opening ceremony was an opportunity to celebrate these refurbished facilities and to acknowledge the work that has been done by Dover District School in education.
