Huonville local, Kiara Adams has been nominated for the TADPAC Print Service to the Disability Sector Award in the 2022 Young Achiever Awards.
Ms Adams, who was anonymously nominated for the award, has been highlighted by her nominators as someone who has developed and come very far in her life.
Being diagnosed with autism from the age of four, Kiara’s nominators highlight how Kiara has had a tough school life through dealing with bullies and having trouble in communicating with others clearly, making it difficult to make friends.
Despite this, Kiara has persevered through her schooling, never missing a day of school and attending her leavers dinner, even without having anyone to attend with.
‘Despite her troubles, Kiara has achieved a great deal in her last few years,” Kiara’s nominator expressed.
“She is currently about to receive her Certificate II in Hospitality and has done countless community functions, all while being an A-grade student.”
