Huonville High School celebrated the end of the year for the Year 11 and 12 classes with a cocktail party at the Huon Valley Trade Training Centre on Thursday, October 28, with students also receiving awards for their work throughout the year.
Geoff Williamson, principal of Huonville High School, in his welcome address to the students and staff at the celebration, said that he was impressed by all of the students at Huonville High and their potential that they have shown.
“This is a celebration of student achievement, but without staff and teachers, there would be no student achievement,” Mr Williamson began.
“If you ever came over to the Trade Training school on a Tuesday or Thursday, you would see our students doing some truly amazing work in their different courses.”
Mr Williamson also related the year back to the Huonville High School’s vision of ‘Together we learn’.
“It is not just about the young people in this place learning, but we as teachers are learning from you as well,” Mr Williamson explained.
