Sacred Heart speed woes

Calls are growing louder to slow down traffic near Sacred Heart Catholic School in Geeveston, where trucks and cars thunder past the school grounds at 80 kilometres all day.

Local Cherie Manning, a parent at Sacred Heart has been campaigning for the past two years to have the speed limit changed, gathering petitions and contacting ministers to push forward the change.

“We aren’t asking for a lot,” Ms Manning stated.

“All we need is for the speed to be lowered to 40 during school pick up and drop off times, something that is the same for all the other schools in the local area.”
