Seven Community Bank Huon Valley Scholarship recipients were celebrated on Friday, March 25 at Willie Smith’s, with an awards ceremony recognising young people and their academic goals.

In an entirely female cohort of scholarship recipients, five of the scholarships were awarded to young people pursuing Bachelor Degrees while two scholarships were for those pursuing TAFE certifications.

The scholarship is for students who reside in, or have attended a secondary school in, the local area of the Huon Valley Community Bank branches who are studying on a full-time basis at either University or TAFE, with the scholarship helping to cover the costs of study resources, accommodation or travel expenses.

Students were chosen due to their outstanding performance academically, commitment to the community and a dedication to higher education.
