Local suicide prevention organisations in the Huon Valley have been recognised for their efforts at the 2022 Tasmanian LiFE Awards held on Thursday, May 5, with PFLAG Cygnet Community Hub awarded and Cygnet Cares finalists for the community award.

Cygnet Cares and PFLAG Cygnet Community Hub were nominees for the Communities in Action for Suicide Prevention Life Award, with PFLAG Cygnet Community Hub ultimately taking out the award.

Mez Newman, chairperson of PFLAG, said that the organisation was honoured to receive the Tasmanian LiFE award and to be recognised by Lifeline Relationship Australia Tasmania, sharing their delight and sharing the award jointly with Brighton Alive.
