Cygnet Primary goes red

Cygnet Primary School students transformed from their usual green uniforms to red on Friday, May 20 in support of the Huonville Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal.

Students not only wore their most vibrant best on the day, but also donated to support the Red Shield Appeal, with donations presented to Huonville Salvation Army coordinator Chris Walker.

Ms Walker stated that funds raised on the day and in the Huon Valley will stay in the local community, supporting those who are struggling in the Huon area.

“The Red Shield Appeal in the Huon helps a lot of families and individuals who need emergency support and material aid,” Ms Walker explained.

“There are an increasing amount of people who need support with groceries or other things and the funds raised from the Red Shield Appeal help us to listen to others and what they need and provide it on a personal leave.”
