On Friday, November 11, current and former employees, contractors, and suppliers of Duggans were invited to join the company in its 95th birthday celebrations at Cradoc.

In 1927, Harry Duggan married Edna Townsend and started their family of 12 children, purchased a lorry, hired his first employee, Eddie Beechey, and carried out a contract road building job in Cradoc.

As the years rolled on, five of Harry’s seven sons joined the family business, and in 1965, Harry retired and youngest son Leon joined the partnership of H. Duggan and Sons, with four of Harry’s other sons, Alan, Neil, Greg and Daryl.

In the 1980s, the partnership evolved into Duggans Pty Ltd under the directorship of Alan, Greg, Daryl and Leon, with the inclusion of some of the third generation.

On Friday, Duggans’ Managing Director, and Harry’s grandson, Stephen Duggan thanked all those who came along to join in the celebrations at the Cradoc site.
