Continuing a twenty-year tradition on the water, the Living Boat Trust (LBT) invited local students from Franklin Primary School to a water safety program on the shores of the Huon River.

Joined by LBT volunteers, students were taught the ins-and-outs of boating skills, rowing and sailing, aiming to improve student’s abilities and confidence around boats and the water.

LBT Secretary Richard Forster said that it was amazing to watch student’s confidence and abilities grow over the five-day program.

“A lot of the students have been nowhere near a boat or the water before and seeing them grow through the program is really special,” explained Mr Forster.
