Donald, better known as Squid, with Kelly, his wife, started their business, D. L. and K. L. Gordon Earthmoving and Quarry Supplies, in 2001.
As well as Squid, the business currently employs one full time person, one casual person and Kelly who organises the book work.
A lot of their work includes road building and construction throughout the Huon Valley.
D. L. and K. L. Gordon Earthmoving and Quarry Supplies create dams and car parks, and are able to transport over dimensional loads with their float.
Squid has done larger jobs contracting for the Huon Valley Council, the forestry industry and with Huon Aquaculture.
Squid also has his own gravel quarry with all quarry products available, including all types of crushed gravel.
Landscape supplies are available if requested.
Squid’s range of machinery includes a 20 tonne excavator, a prime mover and float, a 22 tonne semi tipper, a 10-foot road grader, a 12 tonne road roller and a 10-yard tipper and pig trailer.
He also has truck hire and semi trailer hire.
