A deluge of rain last week saw flood warnings issued by Tasmania State Emergency Service (SES) and the Bureau of Meteorology for areas throughout the Huon Valley.

More than 60 millimetres of rain in the western catchment on Wednesday saw the river surge, reaching near 2016 major flood levels at Tahune Bridge at around 8pm.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued flood warnings for the Huon River, indicating the potential for flooding in Judbury, Ranelagh, Huonville, Glen Huon, Woodstock, Cradoc, Glaziers Bay, Franklin, Castle Forbes Bay, Port Huon, Geeveston, Lonnavale and the surrounding regions.
